The GP Force/Attack tire set is a front and rear specific tire combination designed for racing. Both featuring BlackChili compound and Vectran Breaker they provides great straight-line speed, grip and cornering excellence.
Specifically developed for the front and rear wheels of race bikes. The GP Attack benefits from its special Black Chili version that gives the streamlined 23mm front tire more grip with lower rolling resistance, compared to the previous GP Attack tire.
The GP Force is a powerful rear wheel specialist and with its 25mm section combined with a fast Black Chili compound, it gives excellent traction and road handling that's second to none.
Vectran™ Breaker
Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fiber from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from melted liquid polymer Vectra and processed further to a multi-strand thread. Spider silk, like Vectran, has an enormous tear resistance at a very low weight – exactly the right properties to process into a premium Continental bike tire as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than the comparable nylon breaker. Vectran Breaker does not adversely affect the rolling resistance.
BlackChili Compound
Continental refine newly developed synthetic rubbers with natural rubber with the proven high-performance tread compound. They use these rubbers with special nanometric carbon soot particles, which are optimized in shape and surface properties for best uses for the intended tire. BlackChili Compound reaches an unprecedented of performance. Tires with BlackChili Compound reach an unprecedented level of performance. Compared to the previous best Activated Silica Compound, BlackChili tires have 26% less rolling resistance, a 30 % higher friction value (grip) and a 5 % increase in mileage.
TPS TyrePositioning System
The narrower front tire (23mm) provides reduced wind resistance and better handling. An adhesion-optimized tread mixture supplies the necessary grip especially for wet cornering. The wider rear tire (25mm) offers better traction thanks to a larger contact area and at the same time more comfort. Thanks to the fast rolling, optimized tread mixture and larger contact area on the rear tire, wear is reduced. The result is a pioneering front and rear tire system for road racing – to be found in Conti’s GP Attack and Force tires/tubs.
